Leviticus 23:32 meaning and explanation
It will be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you shall humble yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to keep your Sabbath.”
Leviticus 23:32, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The LORD is speaking to Moses about the Day of Atonement, the tenth day of the seventh month, when Israel was to humble themselves and do no work. Verse 32 fixes the timing: the observance begins on the evening of the ninth day and lasts until the following evening, so the day runs from evening to evening.
