Explanation preview
This verse belongs to the LORD's answer to Moses after a man of mixed Israelite and Egyptian parentage cursed the Name during a fight in the camp. God sets the penalty for the whole community: blaspheming the name of the LORD is a capital offense, and the same law applies to the foreign resident and the native alike.
