Leviticus 5:11 meaning and explanation

But if he cannot afford two turtledoves or two young pigeons, he may bring a tenth of an ephah of fine flour as a sin offering. He must not put olive oil or frankincense on it, because it is a sin offering.

Leviticus 5:11, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

God gives these instructions to Moses for the Israelites at Mount Sinai, continuing the sin offering laws. A tenth of an ephah is roughly two liters of fine flour, the cheapest option yet, so even the poorest person can bring a sin offering.
