People were eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

Jesus is speaking to his disciples about the suddenness of his return, comparing it to Noah's day. The ordinary routines of life, eating, drinking and marrying, were not themselves sinful; the point is that people carried on unaware and unprepared until the flood came.
