The two disciples are the ones Jesus sent ahead in verse 30 to fetch a colt at Bethphage and Bethany, near the Mount of Olives, as he makes his final approach to Jerusalem. Their obedience matters here: Jesus had told them exactly what they would find, and the report is simply that it happened as he said.
