After the temple episode, where the twelve year old Jesus stayed behind and was found among the teachers, Luke closes the story quietly. Jesus returns with Mary and Joseph to Nazareth and is obedient, the Greek hypostrephō meaning to return and hypakouō meaning to listen under, that is, to obey.
