Luke 4:3 meaning and explanation
The devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”
Luke 4:3, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jesus has just been baptized, and Luke says the Spirit led Him into the wilderness, where He fasted forty days and was hungry. The devil's word "if" can also carry the sense of "since," so this is less a question than a test pressed on Him.
