Luke 8:55 meaning and explanation
Her spirit returned, and at once she got up. And He directed that she be given something to eat.
Luke 8:55, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jesus has just taken the hand of Jairus's twelve year old daughter and called her to rise, and Luke, a careful storyteller, reports that her spirit returned. The phrase describes the life coming back into her body, not a separate journey of the soul.
