Mark 14:45 meaning and explanation
Going directly to Jesus, he said, “Rabbi!” and kissed Him.
Mark 14:45, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Judas arrives with an armed crowd and goes straight to Jesus, addressing him as Rabbi, a respectful title for a teacher, and kissing him. In that culture a kiss was a normal greeting between friends and students, so Judas uses an ordinary sign of affection as the agreed signal for arrest.
