Mark 5:17 meaning and explanation
And the people began to beg Jesus to leave their region.
Mark 5:17, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The people of the Gerasene region had just seen a man freed from a legion of demons, but they had also lost a herd of about two thousand pigs. Mark places this request right after the witnesses describe both events, so the townspeople weigh the healing against their economic loss and ask Jesus to go.
