because He was teaching His disciples. He told them, “The Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill Him, and after three days He will rise.”

Explanation preview
Jesus is speaking privately to his disciples as they pass through Galilee, and Mark notes that he did not want anyone to know where they were. This is the second of three predictions in Mark where Jesus foretells his death and resurrection.
