Matthew 13:31, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Jesus is speaking to the crowds beside the sea, continuing a series of parables about the kingdom of heaven. The mustard seed was proverbial in Jewish teaching for something tiny, and Jesus uses that smallness to make a point: the kingdom starts almost invisibly, planted like seed in a field, yet it carries within it a growth no one can stop.
