Jesus is speaking privately to His disciples in Galilee, shortly after the transfiguration and the healing of the demon-possessed boy. He uses His favorite self-title, the Son of Man, drawn from Daniel's vision, and announces plainly what awaits Him: He will be handed over, or delivered up, into the hands of men.
