Matthew 2:13 meaning and explanation
When the Magi had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”
Matthew 2:13, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
After the Magi leave, an angel of the Lord comes to Joseph in a dream, one of several dreams in this chapter that guide the family. Herod has already shown his intent by asking the Magi to report back, and the angel names the danger plainly: Herod will search for the Child to kill Him.
