Matthew 22:9 meaning and explanation

Go therefore to the crossroads and invite to the banquet as many as you can find.’

Matthew 22:9, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Jesus is telling the second parable of the wedding banquet, and these are the king's words to his servants after the first invited guests refused and even killed the messengers. The king's feast is ready, but the original guests proved unworthy, so the invitation now goes out to the crossroads, the public places where anyone could be found.
