So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

Jesus had just sent the disciples into the city to a certain man, telling them the Teacher's time was near and that He would keep the Passover at his house (verses 17 and 18). Verse 19 reports their plain obedience: they went, found things as He had said, and made the meal ready.
