Matthew 26:34 meaning and explanation
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus declared, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”
Matthew 26:34, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jesus speaks these words to Peter at the Passover meal, moments after Peter has vowed to stay faithful even if everyone else falls away. The prediction is startlingly specific: not merely that Peter will fail, but when and how often, before the rooster crows that very night.
