Micah 7:2 meaning and explanation

The godly man has perished from the earth; there is no one upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood; they hunt one another with a net.

Micah 7:2, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Micah speaks as a prophet in eighth-century Judah, lamenting that faithful people have vanished from the land. His words are hyperbole born of grief, not a census report: from his vantage point, covenant loyalty has collapsed and violence has become ordinary.
