Nehemiah 10:33, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Nehemiah 10 records a written covenant that the returned exiles sealed after Ezra read the Law aloud and the people confessed their failures. In verse 32 the community obligates itself to a yearly third of a shekel, and verse 33 lists what that money funds: the showbread set before the LORD, the daily grain and burnt offerings, the additional offerings for Sabbaths, New Moons and festivals, and the sin offerings that make atonement for Israel.
