Nehemiah 6:9 meaning and explanation
For they were all trying to frighten us, saying, “Their hands will be weakened in the work, and it will never be finished.” But now, my God, strengthen my hands.
Nehemiah 6:9, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Nehemiah is speaking here, the Jewish governor directing the rebuilding of Jerusalem's wall while Sanballat, Tobiah and Geshem try to stop the work through threats and false rumors of rebellion. Verse 9 names the strategy plainly: the enemies meant to frighten the builders so their hands would grow weak and the wall would never be finished.
