The LORD has just summoned Aaron and Miriam to the Tent of Meeting after they challenged Moses' authority. Speaking from the pillar of cloud, God begins His answer by describing how He normally relates to prophets: through visions and dreams, forms of revelation that come in sleep or trance and require interpretation.
