Numbers 15:30 meaning and explanation
But the person who sins defiantly, whether a native or foreigner, blasphemes the LORD. That person shall be cut off from among his people.
Numbers 15:30, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
This verse comes as the LORD speaks to Moses, setting the boundary of Israel's sacrificial system. The preceding verses provide forgiveness for unintentional sin, but here a distinction is drawn: sinning "defiantly" (Hebrew b'yad ramah, literally "with a high hand") describes open, deliberate rebellion against God, not weakness or mistake.
