Day 26: Psalm 126-130

Psalms in 30 days reading for day 26.

Psalms 126

  1. 1 A song of ascents. When the LORD restored the captives of Zion, we were like dreamers.
  2. 2 Then our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with shouts of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”
  3. 3 The LORD has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
  4. 4 Restore our captives, O LORD, like streams in the Negev.
  5. 5 Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy.
  6. 6 He who goes out weeping, bearing a trail of seed, will surely return with shouts of joy, carrying sheaves of grain.

Psalms 127

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain; unless the LORD protects the city, its watchmen stand guard in vain.
  2. 2 In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for bread to eat— for He gives sleep to His beloved.
  3. 3 Children are indeed a heritage from the LORD, and the fruit of the womb is His reward.
  4. 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are children born in one’s youth.
  5. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. He will not be put to shame when he confronts the enemies at the gate.

Psalms 128

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in His ways!
  2. 2 For when you eat the fruit of your labor, blessings and prosperity will be yours.
  3. 3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine flourishing within your house, your sons like olive shoots sitting around your table.
  4. 4 In this way indeed shall blessing come to the man who fears the LORD.
  5. 5 May the LORD bless you from Zion, that you may see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life,
  6. 6 that you may see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel!

Psalms 129

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Many a time they have persecuted me from my youth— let Israel now declare—
  2. 2 many a time they have persecuted me from my youth, but they have not prevailed against me.
  3. 3 The plowmen plowed over my back; they made their furrows long.
  4. 4 The LORD is righteous; He has cut me from the cords of the wicked.
  5. 5 May all who hate Zion be turned back in shame.
  6. 6 May they be like grass on the rooftops, which withers before it can grow,
  7. 7 unable to fill the hands of the reaper, or the arms of the binder of sheaves.
  8. 8 May none who pass by say to them, “The blessing of the LORD be on you; we bless you in the name of the LORD.”

Psalms 130

  1. 1 A song of ascents. Out of the depths I cry to You, O LORD!
  2. 2 O Lord, hear my voice; let Your ears be attentive to my plea for mercy.
  3. 3 If You, O LORD, kept track of iniquities, then who, O Lord, could stand?
  4. 4 But with You there is forgiveness, so that You may be feared.
  5. 5 I wait for the LORD; my soul does wait, and in His word I put my hope.
  6. 6 My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning— more than watchmen wait for the morning.
  7. 7 O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is loving devotion, and with Him is redemption in abundance.
  8. 8 And He will redeem Israel from all iniquity.
