Proverbs 23:19 meaning and explanation
Listen, my son, and be wise, and guide your heart on the right course.
Proverbs 23:19, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
In this chapter a father teaches his son, and verse 19 is a direct appeal within that instruction. The Hebrew word for "guide" carries the sense of making something go straight, like a path or a road, so the heart is pictured as something the son must steer rather than simply follow.
