In Proverbs 3 the father continues his instruction to his son, and verse 8 names the outcome of the commands just given: not being wise in your own eyes, fearing the LORD, and turning from evil. The Hebrew word for healing can also carry the sense of a restoring cure, and "refreshment to your bones" pictures the body's deepest parts renewed, since bones stood for strength and vitality in Hebrew thought.
