Psalms 102:25 meaning and explanation

In the beginning You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.

Psalms 102:25, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

The afflicted speaker, who has just described his strength broken and his days cut short, turns from his own frailty to address God directly. In the previous verses he has pleaded that God not take him in the midst of his days, and here he grounds that plea in who God is: the one who laid the foundations of the earth and made the heavens with his own hands.
