Psalm 119 is a long acrostic poem in which a worshipper, likely speaking for the faithful community, keeps returning to the value of God's law in the face of ridicule and danger. In verses 54 and 55 the speaker calls God's statutes his songs in the house of his pilgrimage and remembers the LORD's name in the night.
