Psalms 142:6 meaning and explanation
Listen to my cry, for I am brought quite low. Rescue me from my pursuers, for they are too strong for me.
Psalms 142:6, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
David prays from a cave, hunted and alone, and in verse 6 he names his situation plainly: he is brought very low, and his pursuers are stronger than he is. The Hebrew verb shadad, rendered "brought quite low," carries the sense of being drained or laid waste, so this is not mild discouragement but real danger and exhaustion.
