Psalm 18 is David's victory song, credited in the heading to the day the LORD rescued him from Saul and all his enemies. In verses 37 to 42 David describes his pursuit of foes in battle language, and here he pictures their total defeat: ground to dust scattered by wind, trampled like mud in the streets.
