Psalms 42:9 meaning and explanation
I say to God my Rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why must I walk in sorrow because of the enemy’s oppression?”
Psalms 42:9, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The psalmist, a temple singer from the sons of Korah, is far from Jerusalem and surrounded by taunting enemies. He has just described God's waves rolling over him, and now he speaks directly to God, calling him "my Rock," a Hebrew image of firm refuge, even while asking why God has forgotten him.
