In Your justice, rescue and deliver me; incline Your ear and save me.
Psalms 71:2, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The psalmist is an older man (verses 9 and 18) who has trusted God since birth and now faces enemies who claim God has abandoned him. In verse 2 he asks God to act, and he grounds the request in God's justice, the Hebrew mishpat, God's right and faithful way of judging.
