Psalms 75:1, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
This opening verse is the congregation's thanksgiving, sung under the direction of the choirmaster and set to a tune the heading calls "Do Not Destroy." Asaph was a Levite associated with temple worship, and the plural "we" draws the whole assembly into praise. God's "Name" stands for his revealed character and presence, so saying the Name is near means he is close and attentive to his people.
