Explanation preview
In this closing verse of Babylon's funeral dirge, the angel names the city's final crime: she is found guilty of the blood of prophets and saints and of all who were slain on the earth. Babylon represents the proud, idolatrous world system that opposes God, and here its violence against the faithful is exposed.
