Zechariah 8:13 meaning and explanation
As you have been a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid; let your hands be strong.”
Zechariah 8:13, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The LORD of Hosts is speaking through Zechariah to the returned exiles in Jerusalem, a small remnant rebuilding the temple decades after Babylon fell. To be "a curse among the nations" means Israel had become a byword, a name people invoked when pronouncing a curse, so ruined that others used them as an example of disaster.
