1 Chronicles 14:12, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

After David's victory at Baal-perazim, the Philistines fled and left behind the idols they had carried into battle, and David ordered them burned. In the ancient world a defeated army's gods were thought to be captured or disgraced with them, so burning the images declared that the LORD, not these objects, had won the day.
