1 John 3:2 meaning and explanation
Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is.
1 John 3:2, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The elder writing this letter addresses his congregation as “Beloved,” a term of warm affection, and grounds their confidence in what they already are: children of God, a status given by the Father’s love (verse 1). What that childhood will finally look like remains hidden, but the future is certain because it rests on seeing Christ.
