1 Corinthians 13:12 meaning and explanation
Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
1 Corinthians 13:12, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Paul is writing to a divided church in Corinth about the gifts of the Spirit, and here he contrasts our present knowledge with what is coming. Ancient mirrors were polished metal, giving a blurred image at best, so the Greek word ainigma, meaning a riddle or enigma, fits what we now see.
