1 Kings 8:6 meaning and explanation
Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place, beneath the wings of the cherubim.
1 Kings 8:6, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The priests carry the ark into the temple Solomon has built, and it comes to rest in the Most Holy Place beneath the wings of the giant cherubim. The ark held the two stone tablets of the covenant Moses received at Horeb, so this moment completes what began at Sinai: God's presence, once moving with Israel through the wilderness in a tent, now settles in a permanent house in Jerusalem.
