1 Samuel 13:19 meaning and explanation
And no blacksmith could be found in all the land of Israel, because the Philistines had said, “The Hebrews must not be allowed to make swords or spears.”
1 Samuel 13:19, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The Philistines had gathered a vast army against Israel, and Saul's troops were hiding in caves. This verse names a deeper weakness: Israel had no blacksmiths, because the Philistines had banned the craft so the Hebrews could not make swords or spears.
