2 Samuel 12:9 meaning and explanation
Why then have you despised the command of the LORD by doing evil in His sight? You put Uriah the Hittite to the sword and took his wife as your own, for you have slain him with the sword of the Ammonites.
2 Samuel 12:9, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Nathan has just told David a parable about a rich man who took a poor man's only lamb, and David has erupted in anger. Now Nathan turns the story on him: "You are that man." These words are God's indictment, spoken through the prophet, of David's adultery with Bathsheba and his arranging of Uriah's death in battle.
