2 Samuel 13:5 meaning and explanation

2 Samuel 13:5, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jonadab, a cousin of the king's sons, is speaking to Amnon, David's eldest son, who is consumed with desire for his half sister Tamar. Rather than correcting him, Jonadab, described as very shrewd, supplies a scheme: Amnon should feign illness so the king will grant his request and send Tamar to prepare food in his presence.
