2 Samuel 17:22 meaning and explanation
So David and all the people with him got up and crossed the Jordan. By daybreak, there was no one left who had not crossed the Jordan.
2 Samuel 17:22, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
David is fleeing Jerusalem after his son Absalom's coup, and Hushai's counter-advice has bought him time. The Jordan crossing is the payoff of the chapter's suspense: Ahithophel's plan to strike David that same night was overruled, and the warning sent through the priests and the two messengers reached the king in time.
