2 Samuel 2:7 meaning and explanation
Now then, be strong and courageous, for though Saul your lord is dead, the house of Judah has anointed me as their king.”
2 Samuel 2:7, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
David speaks these words to the men of Jabesh-gilead, who had risked much to bury King Saul after his death on Mount Gilboa. Having just been anointed king over the house of Judah at Hebron, David blesses them for their loyalty and invites them to transfer that same courage and faithfulness to his new reign.
