Acts 13:29 meaning and explanation
When they had carried out all that was written about Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb.
Acts 13:29, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Paul is speaking in the synagogue at Pisidian Antioch, retelling Israel's story to show that Jesus fulfills it. Here he reaches the climax of the rejection: the people and rulers of Jerusalem carried out everything written about the Messiah, then took him down from the tree, a phrase echoing Deuteronomy's curse on one hanged on wood, and laid him in a tomb.
