Acts 15:32 meaning and explanation

Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the brothers.

Acts 15:32, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Judas (also called Barsabbas) and Silas were leaders from the Jerusalem church chosen to carry the council's letter to Antioch, and they were also prophets. In the New Testament a prophet speaks God's message to build up the church, so their ministry went beyond delivering the letter.
