Colossians 2:17 meaning and explanation
These are a shadow of the things to come, but the body that casts it belongs to Christ.
Colossians 2:17, Berean Standard Bible

Paul is writing to a church he has never visited, warning them against teachers who insisted on food rules, festivals, new moons and Sabbaths as spiritual requirements. In verse 17 he explains what those observances were: a shadow, the outline cast by something solid still to come.
