Colossians 4:17 meaning and explanation
Tell Archippus: “See to it that you complete the ministry you have received in the Lord.”
Colossians 4:17, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Paul closes his letter to the Colossians with personal greetings, and here he singles out Archippus, likely a member of the household mentioned earlier in the letter, perhaps Philemon's son. The instruction is public, given through the congregation, yet gentle: Archippus is to see that he completes the ministry, the diakonia or service, he received in the Lord.
