The man dressed in linen, who swore the oath in the previous verses, continues answering Daniel. The daily sacrifice is the regular temple offering of ancient Israel, and the abomination of desolation is the defiling thing set up in the sanctuary, language used earlier in Daniel and echoed in the Gospels.
