Daniel 4:14 meaning and explanation

Daniel 4:14, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Nebuchadnezzar is recounting a dream that troubled him, and in it a watcher, a holy one, descends from heaven with a verdict. The tree in the dream stands for the king himself, as Daniel explains in verse 22, so the command to cut it down and strip its fruit announces the collapse of his power and the scattering of those who sheltered under it.
