Deuteronomy 28:25 meaning and explanation
The LORD will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You will march out against them in one direction but flee from them in seven. You will be an object of horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.
Deuteronomy 28:25, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Moses speaks to Israel on the plains of Moab, setting the covenant's blessings and curses before the people as they prepare to enter the land. Verse 25 belongs to the curses and deliberately reverses verse 7: where obedience meant enemies would flee in seven directions, disobedience means Israel will.
